Background
- Background: ARID4A (AT-rich interactive domain-containing protein 4A) is a retinoblastoma binding protein and member of the AT-rich interaction domain (ARID) family of proteins. In addition to the ARID DNA binding domain, ARID4A also contains a chromo domain and a TUDOR domain, indicating a function in chromatin organization and protein-protein interactions with methylated protein substrates. ARID4A is implicated to be involved in chromatin remodeling and epigenetic modifications and to play a role in the pathogenesis of cancer.
