- BPTF (Bromodomain PHD Finger Transcription Factor (BPTF))
-
Alternative Name
- FALZ/BPTF
-
Background
- Background: FALZ is the largest subunit of the nucleosome-remodeling factor (NURF) which catalyzes nucleosome sliding and facilitates chromatin remodeling and transcription. FALZ bears a C-terminal bromodomain and a plant homeodomain (PHD) finger. The PHD finger has been demonstrated to bind methyl-lysine and may function to couple histone trimethylation with chromatin remodeling.
