Background: Background: Glucocorticoid modulatory element-binding protein 1 (GMEB1) is a trans-acting factor that binds to glucocorticoid modulatory elements (GME) present in the TAT (tyrosine aminotransferase) promoter and increases sensitivity to low concentrations of glucocorticoids. GMEB also binds also to the transferrin receptor promoter. It is an essential auxiliary factor for the replication of parvoviruses [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) ww.uniprot.org/uniprot/Q9Y692].
