    Alternative Name

    USP8

    Background

Background: USP8 (ubiquitin-specific processing protease 8) is also known as UBPY (ubiquitin isopeptidase Y). USP8 is a hydrolase that can remove conjugated ubiquitin from proteins and therefore plays an important regulatory role at the level of protein turnover by preventing degradation [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) P40818].
