Characteristics: The clone DF1513, a mouse monoclonal antibody recognizes the human CD71 cell surface antigen, a ~190 kDa homodimeric glycoprotein expressed by proliferating cells. CD71 antibody selectively binds to earliest erythroid precursors, proliferating cells, reticulocytes, and erythroid precursors. It plays a role in the control of cellular proliferation by facilitating the uptake of iron via ferrotransferrin binding and the recycling of apotransferrin to the cell surface.
