Purpose
- p38 MAPK phospho T180/phospho Y182 Antibody
-
Cross-Reactivity (Details)
- antibody was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using phospho peptide coupled to agarose beads followed by solid phase adsorption(s) against non-phospho peptide and non-specific peptide to remove any unwanted reactivities.
-
Purification
- Anti-p38 MAPK pT180/pY182 Antibody is directed against p38 MAPK phosphorylated at T180 and Y182.
-
Immunogen
- Anti-p38 MAPK pT180/pY182 Antibody was produced by repeated immunizations with a synthetic phospho-peptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding Thr180/Tyr182.

Comment
-
Anti-p38 MAPK pT180/pY182 Antibody is tested for use in Western Blotting and IHC. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band of approximately 39kDa in size corresponding to p38 MAPK protein phosphorylated at Thr180/Tyr182 in the appropriate cell lysate or extract.

Background
- Mitogen-activated protein kinase 14, MAP kinase 14, MAPK 14, CRK1, Mitogen-activated protein kinase p38 alpha, MAP kinase p38 alpha,p38 MAPK pT180/pY182 Antibody detects phosphorylated p38 MAPK protein. The three Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinases (MAPKs) are evolutionarily conserved protein kinases that control a vast array of cellular processes. p38 MAPK is one of these kinases and it is activated by both inflammatory cytokines and by stress. The p38 MAPK is thought to be particularly important in diseases like asthma and autoimmunity but it also plays important roles in the stress response of the nervous system. Like the other MAPKs, p38 is activated by a dual specificity kinase that phosphorylates Thr180 and Tyr182. Anti-p38 MAPK pT180/pY182 Antibody is ideal for investigators involved in Signal Transduction and Apoptosis research.
