    N-Term

    Purpose

Calnexin (Endoplasmic Reticulum Marker) (CANX/1541), CF740 conjugate

    Characteristics

Calnexin is a type-I integral membrane protein of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). It is a calcium-binding chaperone protein that interacts transiently with newly synthesized N-linked glycoproteins, facilitating protein folding and assembly. It may also play a central role in the quality control of protein folding by retaining incorrectly folded protein subunits within the ER for degradation. Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF® Dyes and other labels. CF® Dyes offer exceptional brightness and photostability. Note: Conjugates of blue fluorescent dyes like CF®405S and CF®405M are not recommended for detecting low abundance targets, because blue dyes have lower fluorescence and can give higher non-specific background than other dye colors.

    Immunogen

Recombinant N-terminal fragment of human Calnexin protein

    Isotype

    IgG2b, kappa
  • Application Notes

Higher concentration may be required for direct detection using primary antibody conjugates than for indirect detection with secondary antibody. Immunofluorescence: 0.5-1 μg/mL. Immunohistology (formalin) 1-2 μg/mL. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues is enhanced by boiling tissue sections in 10 mM Tris, 1 mM EDTA pH 9.0 for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. Flow Cytometry 0.5-1 μg/million cells/0.1 mL. Western blotting 0.5-1 μg/mL. Optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined by user

    Comment
