    Purpose

    MMP2 / Collagenase Type IV A (Tumor Metastasis Marker) (MMP2/1501), CF740 conjugate

    Characteristics

This antibody recognizes a protein of 72 kDa, which is identified as MMP2. The matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) are a family of peptidase enzymes responsible for the degradation of extracellular matrix components, including collagen, gelatin, Fibronectin, Laminin and proteoglycan. Transcription of MMP genes is differentially activated by phorbol ester, lipopolysaccharide (LPS) or staphylococcal enterotoxin B (SEB). MMP catalysis requires both calcium and zinc. MMP-2 (also designated type IV collagenase) cleaves collagen types IV,V, VII and X and gelatin type I. Activation of MMP-2 secretion requires the Ras signaling pathway. Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF® Dyes and other labels. CF® Dyes offer exceptional brightness and photostability. Note: Conjugates of blue fluorescent dyes like CF®405S and CF®405M are not recommended for detecting low abundance targets, because blue dyes have lower fluorescence and can give higher non-specific background than other dye colors.

    Immunogen

Recombinant human MMP2 protein fragment (aa444-575)

    Isotype

    IgG1
  • Application Notes

Higher concentration may be required for direct detection using primary antibody conjugates than for indirect detection with secondary antibody. Immunofluorescence: 0.5-1 μg/mL. Flow Cytometry 0.5-1 μg/million cells/0.1 mL. Western blotting 0.5-1 μg/mL. Optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined by user
