Background
- N-Myc is a member of the Myc family of proteins which include c-Myc, N-Myc, and L-Myc. Myc family members are transactivating DNA binding proteins with oncogenic potential. Transactivation by Myc requires dimerization with other basic helix-loop-helix transcription factors. N-myc dimerizes with the MAX transcription factor.
