Background
- EBS-O-166 specifically reacts with tenascin-C, an extracellular matrix glycoprotein of 210 kD. It recognizes those forms of tenascin that are produced by both normal and hyperproliferative (also neoplastic) tissues. Tenascin/hexabrachion/cytotactin is an extracellular matrix glycoprotein, widely expressed during embryogenesis. In adults, it is restricted to certain epithelial-stromal interfaces and increases markedly in hyperproliferative diseases and in stroma of many neoplasms, including gliomas, breast, squamous and lung carcinomas. Positive control: Sections of carcinomas like e.g. breast cancer. Human testis.
