Zinc finger protein PLAGL1 (Pleiomorphic adenoma-like protein 1), also called Tumor suppressor ZAC and LOT 1 (Lost on transformation 1) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PLAGL1 gene. Predicted to enable DNA-binding transcription activator activity, RNA polymerase II-specific and RNA polymerase II cis-regulatory region sequence-specific DNA binding activity. Acts upstream of or within regulation of gene expression and skeletal muscle cell differentiation. Predicted to be located in Golgi apparatus and nuclear body. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system, brain, embryo mesenchyme, heart, and sensory organ. Orthologous to human PLAGL1 (PLAG1 like zinc finger 1).
