Background
Epoxide hydrolase 2 is a bifunctional enzyme. The C-terminal domain has epoxide hydrolase activity and acts on epoxides (alkene oxides, oxiranes) and arene oxides. It also plays a role in xenobiotic metabolism by degrading potentially toxic epoxides.
