Background
-
Background: NLRX1 or NLR family member X1, short for nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain, leucine rich repeat containing X1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the NLRX1 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the NLR family and localizes to the outer mitochondrial membrane. The encoded protein is a regulator of mitochondrial antivirus responses. Three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.
