The MCP proteins belong to the CC chemokine family, and signal through CCR2 and, with the exception of MCP-1, other CCR receptors. The MCP proteins chemoattract and activate monocytes, activated T cells, basophils, NK cells, and immature dendritic cells. The MCP family cross reacts across species. Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 8, also known as monocyte chemoattractant protein 2 (MCP-2), is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CCL8 gene. Synonyms: Monoclonal MCP2 antibody, Anti-MCP2 antibody, MCP-2 antibody, Monocyte Chemotactic antibody-2 antibody, CCL8 antibody, HC14 antibody.
