    Characteristics

Recombinant Human Haptoglobin is produced by our E.coli expression system in human cells. The target protein is expressed with sequence (Cys145-Asn406) of Human Haptoglobin fused with a polyhistidine tag at the N-terminus.

    Sterility

    0.2 μm filtered

    Endotoxin Level

Less than 0.1 ng/μg (1 IEU/μg) as determined by LAL test

    Reconstitution

It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL.
Dissolve the lyophilized protein in ddH2O.
Please aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.

    Buffer

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution of PBS,1 mM DTT, pH 7.4.

    Preservative

    Dithiothreitol (DTT)

    Precaution of Use

This product contains Dithiothreitol (DTT): a POISONOUS AND HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE which should be handled by trained staff only.

    Handling Advice

Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Do not mix by vortex or pipetting.

    Storage

    4 °C/-20 °C/-80 °C

    Storage Comment

Lyophilized protein should be stored at < -20°C, though stable at room temperature for 3 weeks.
Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4-7°C for 2-7 days.
Aliquots of reconstituted samples are stable at < -20°C for 3 months.

    Expiry Date

    6 months
  • Target

    Haptoglobin (HP)

    Alternative Name

    Haptoglobin

    Background

As a result of hemolysis, hemoglobin is found to accumulate in the kidney and is secreted in the urine. Haptoglobin captures, and combines with free plasma hemoglobin to allow hepatic recycling of heme iron and to prevent kidney damage. Haptoglobin also acts as an Antimicrobial, Antioxidant, has antibacterial activity and plays a role in modulating many aspects of the acute phase response.
