Storage Comment
- Store vial at -20° C prior to restoration. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Maintain sterility. This product DOES NOT contain preservative. DO NOT VORTEX. We recommend adding a carrier protein such as HSA or BSA to 0.1% (i.e. 1.0 mg/mL) . For best results aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or colder. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge vial before each opening to dislodge contents from the cap and to clarify if contents are not clear after standing at room temperature.

Background
-
Synonyms: Tumor necrosis factor, TNF-alpha, TNF-a, TNFα, cytokine, Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 2, Cachectin
Background: TNFα is secreted by macrophages, monocytes, neutrophils, T-cells, and NK- cells following their stimulation by bacterial LPS. Cells expressing CD4 secrete TNF-alpha, while CD8 cells secrete little or no TNF-alpha. The synthesis of TNF-alpha is induced by many different stimuli including interferons, IL2, and GM-CSF. Recombinant Human Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 158 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 17483.77 Daltons.
