Background
-
Protein Background: CHD4 (Chromodomain Helicase DNA Binding Protein 4) is a member of the CHD family of proteins which are characterized by the presence of chromo (chromatin organization modifier) domains and SNF2-related helicase/ ATPase domains. This protein is one of the components of a histone deacetylase complex referred to as the Mi-2/ NuRD complex which participates in the remodeling of chromatin by deacetylating histones and is required for anchoring centrosomal pericentrin in both interphase and mitosis, for spindle organization and centrosome integrity.
Short Description: Recombinant CHD4 protein was expressed in a baculovirus expression system as the full length protein (accession number NP_001264.2) with a N-terminal FLAG tag. The molecular weight of the protein is 219.3 kDa.
Aliases: Chromodomain helicase DNA binding protein 4
