Background
-
Protein Background: MRM1(rRNA methyltransferase 1, mitochondrial) is a S-adenosyl-L-methionine-dependent 2'-O-ribose methyltransferase that catalyzes the formation of 2'-O-methylguanosine at position 1145 (Gm1145) in the 16S mitochondrial large subunit ribosomal RNA (mtLSU rRNA), a universally conserved modification in the peptidyl transferase domain of the mtLSU rRNA.
Short Description: Recombinant MRM1 protein that includes full length of human MRM1 protein (accession number NP_079140.2) was expressed was expressed in E. coli cells with an N-terminal GST tag. The molecular weight of the protein is 65.47 kDa.
Aliases: Mitochondrial rRNA Methyltransferase 1, RRNA Methyltransferase, MRM1 (FLJ22578)
