Background
-
Protein Background: UBE2V2 (Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 variant 2)also known as DDVit-1, DDVIT1, EDAF-1, EDPF-1, EDPF1, MMS2, UEV-2 and UEV2. UBE2V2 is a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family which is required for post-replicative DNA damage repair and plays an important role in various cellular processes. UBE2V2 has no ubiquitin ligase activity on its own. The UBE2V2/UBE2N heterodimer catalyzes the synthesis of non-canonical polyubiquitin chains that are linked through 'Lys-63'. This type of poly-ubiquitination does not lead to protein degradation by the proteasome. Mediates transcriptional activation of target genes. Plays a role in the control of progress through the cell cycle and differentiation. Plays a role in the error-free DNA repair pathway and contributes to the survival of cells after DNA damage.
Short Description: Recombinant UBE2V2 protein that includes full length of human UBE2V2 protein (accession number NP_003341.1) was expressed in E. coli and contains an N-terminal His tag with a molecular weight of 18.53 kDa. The purity of the protein is ≥ 95 % by SDS-PAGE.
Aliases: Ubiquitin conjugating enzyme E2 variant 2, DDVit-1, DDVIT1, EDAF-1, EDPF-1, EDPF1, MMS2, UEV-2, UEV2
