Mouse (Murine) CD84 Molecule (CD84) interaction partners

  1. CD84 is dispensable for thrombus formation and stabilization, indicating that its deficiency may be functionally compensated by other receptors or that it may be important for platelet functions different from platelet-platelet interactions

  2. study establishes a central role for germinal center B cell-specific CD84 and Ly108 (show SLAMF6 Proteins) expression in maintaining B cell tolerance in germinal centers and in preventing autoimmunity

  3. results reveal a dual regulation mechanism for platelet CD84 by simultaneous extra- and intracellular cleavage that may modulate platelet-platelet and platelet-immune cell interactions

  4. Data show that defective tolerance was observed only in Fcgr2b (show FCGR2B Proteins)-deficient mice with autoimmune-type Slam (show SLAMF1 Proteins) family genes, indicating that epistatic effects of both genes are involved.

  5. CD84 is a pan-leukocyte receptor, able to modulate signaling pathways downstream of TLR4 (show TLR4 Proteins), and regulates macrophage cell-fate decisions and effector functions.

Human CD84 Molecule (CD84) interaction partners

  1. data show that overexpression of CD84 in CLL is an important survival mechanism that appears to be an early event in the pathogenesis of the disease

  2. These findings support a model in which CD84 genotypes and/or expression may serve as a useful biomarker for response to etanercept treatment in RA patients of European ancestry

  3. CD84 is highly expressed in mast cells and that it contributes to the regulation of FcepsilonRI (show FCER1G Proteins) signaling

  4. CD84 enhances proliferation of human activated T cells by a Src (show SRC Proteins) homology 2 domain-containing cytoplasmic adaptor (show TICAM2 Proteins) protein SLAM-associated protein (SAP)-independent mechanism.

  5. The structure of CD84 provides insight into SLAM (show SLAMF1 Proteins) family function. Point mutations were studied.

  6. These data suggest that CD84 may play a role in modulating Fc epsilon RI-mediated signaling in mast cells.

CD84 Molecule (CD84) Protein Profile

Protein Summary

This gene encodes a membrane glycoprotein that is a member of the signaling lymphocyte activation molecule (SLAM) family. This family forms a subset of the larger CD2 cell-surface receptor Ig superfamily. The encoded protein is a homophilic adhesion molecule that is expressed in numerous immune cells types and is involved in regulating receptor-mediated signaling in those cells. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
