  1. Coronin-1C Protein and Caveolin Protein Provide Constitutive and Inducible Mechanisms of Rac1 Protein

  2. Coronin 1C displays highly co-operative binding to actin filaments. We highlight a novel mode of coronin regulation, which has implications for how coronins orchestrate cytoskeletal dynamics.

  3. These results indicate that glucose recruits coronin 3 near the plasma membrane, and that it regulates the retrograde transport of the secretory membrane in pancreatic beta-cells.

  4. Coronin 3 is abundantly expressed in the adult CNS. All murine brain areas express coronin 3 during embryogenesis and the first postnatal stages.

  5. Results indicate that interaction of GDP-Rab27a (show RAB27A Proteins) and coronin 3 is important in stimulus-endocytosis coupling, and that GTP (show AK3 Proteins)- and GDP-Rab27a (show RAB27A Proteins) regulates insulin (show INS Proteins) membrane recycling at the distinct stages.

  1. Data indicate that coronin 1C protein (CORO1C) was a direct target of the microRNA miR-1/133a cluster in EBC-1 CORO1C was a direct target of the miR-1/133a cluster in lung-squamous cell carcinoma cell line EBC-1.

  2. Coro1C mediated Rac1 trafficking through actin-rich vesicles.

  3. Coronin-1C overexpression is associated withand hepatocellular carcinoma growth through enhancement of tumor cell proliferation and migration, which are correlated with Rac-1 activation.

  4. Coronin 3 promotes gastric cancer metastasis via the up-regulation of MMP-9 (show MMP9 Proteins) and cathepsin K (show CTSK Proteins).

  5. Patients with higher coronin-1C expression had a more advanced stage of hepatocellular carcinoma.

  6. There is a strong expression of both SELPLG and coronin-1C in the majority of primary effusion lymphomas, irrespective of their gene dosage. SELPLG is critical for cell migration and chemotaxis, while CORO1C regulates actin-dependent processes.

  7. Coronin 1C negatively regulates epithelial cell migration via FAK (show PTK2 Proteins)-mediated inhibition of cell-matrix adhesion.

  8. oligomerization, F-actin interaction and membrane association are mediated by carboxyl terminus

  9. We show that coronin 3 similar to other coronins interacts with the Arp2 (show ACTR2 Proteins)/3-complex and cofilin (show CFL1 Proteins) indicating that this family in general is involved in regulating Arp2 (show ACTR2 Proteins)/3-mediated events.

  10. Fndings postulate a role for CRN2 isoforms in the structural and functional organization of F-actin in highly ordered protein complexes.

CORO1C Protein Profile

Protein Summary

This gene encodes a member of the WD repeat protein family. WD repeats are minimally conserved regions of approximately 40 amino acids typically bracketed by gly-his and trp-asp (GH-WD), which may facilitate formation of heterotrimeric or multiprotein complexes. Members of this family are involved in a variety of cellular processes, including cell cycle progression, signal transduction, apoptosis, and gene regulation. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene.
