Mouse (Murine) Integrin-Binding Sialoprotein (IBSP) interaction partners

  1. TSC1 (show TSC1 Proteins)/TSC2 complex upregulation of OPN (show SPP1 Proteins) expression is mediated by transcription factor SOX9 (show SOX9 Proteins) in an mTOR (show FRAP1 Proteins)-independent manner. Moreover, ablation of OPN (show SPP1 Proteins) by deficient TSC1 (show TSC1 Proteins)/TSC2 complex contributed to inactivation of AKT (show AKT1 Proteins) in TSC (show SLC12A3 Proteins) cells

  2. Intracellular OPN (show SPP1 Proteins) (iOPN) diminished the population size of myeloid progenitor cells and myeloid cells, and secreted OPN (show SPP1 Proteins) (sOPN) increase the population size of lymphoid cells. The total effect of OPN (show SPP1 Proteins) on skewing the leukocyte population balance was observed as host sensitivity to early systemic infection with Candida albicans and T cell-mediated colitis.

  3. this study shows that OPN (show SPP1 Proteins) promotes sepsis in Pseudomonas aeruginosa-infected mice and potentially blocks B cell-dependent immunity

  4. observed a marked decrease of renal gene expression and urinary excretion of osteopontin (show SPP1 Proteins) in Npt2a (show SLC34A1 Proteins)(-/-) mice

  5. data suggest the possibility that Opn (show SPP1 Proteins) might regulate the homeostasis of intestinal microflora through maintenance of TCRgammadelta+ IELs, possibly by support of IEL survival

  6. Bone marrow ablation in BSP (show KLK6 Proteins)-/- mice is followed by a faster vascular and hematopoietic recolonization, along with lower medullary bone formation. Thus, lack of BSP (show KLK6 Proteins) affects the interplay between hematopoiesis, angiogenesis, and osteogenesis, maybe in part through higher expression of VEGF (show VEGFA Proteins) and the angiogenic SIBLING, OPN (show SPP1 Proteins).

  7. OPN (show SPP1 Proteins) secreted by follicular CD153 (show TNFSF8 Proteins)(+) senescence-associated T cells in germinal centers (GCs (show UGCG Proteins)) promotes a continuous supply of intracellular autoantigens via apoptotic cells, thus playing a key role in the progression of the autoreactive GC reaction and leading to pathogenic autoantibody production in lupus-prone mice.

  8. study demonstrated an anti-tumorigenic role of OPN (show SPP1 Proteins) in transgenic adenocarcinoma of the mouse prostate (TRAMP (show DPT Proteins)) development and also suggests that the contribution of OPN (show SPP1 Proteins) to tumor development depends on the type of tumor as well as the source and isoform of OPN (show SPP1 Proteins)

  9. These data suggest a critical role for reduced stroma-derived osteopontin for hematopoietic stem cell aging.

  10. Osteopontin (show SPP1 Proteins) is a key mediator released by senescent pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells and contributes to pulmonary hypertension progression.

  1. These data indicate that secretome derived from salivary gland cancer cells can influence the expression of two potential biomarkers of oral cancer-namely, bone sialoprotein (show CRISP1 Proteins) (BSP (show KLK6 Proteins)) and dentin sialoprotein (DSP (show DSPP Proteins))-in normal salivary gland cells.

  2. In conclusion, serum levels of BSP (show KLK6 Proteins), ALP (show ALP Proteins), ICTP, and PSA (show PLAG1 Proteins) increased in patients with bone metastases, and combined detection of all markers could improve the positive-predictive value.

  3. Preameloblast-Derived Factors Mediate Osteoblast Differentiation of Human Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cells by Runx2 (show RUNX2 Proteins)-Osterix (show SP7 Proteins)-BSP (show KLK6 Proteins) Signaling.

  4. Two significant SNPs within IBSP, rs1054627 and rs17013181, were associated with BMD (show BEST1 Proteins) and postmenopausal osteoporosis by the two-stage strategy, and rs17013181 was also significantly associated with serum IBSP levels.

  5. Our results suggest that SSEA (show MPST Proteins)-4 is a specific cell surface antigen (show CD53 Proteins) that can be used to identify dental pulp stem cells.

  6. the strong correlation between bone sialoprotein (show CRISP1 Proteins) and OPN (show SPP1 Proteins) and papillary thyroid carcinoma suggests a role for BSP (show KLK6 Proteins) and OPN (show SPP1 Proteins) in calcification and tumor progression of papillary thyroid carcinoma

  7. oxidized low-density lipoprotein-induced expression dependent on Runx2 (show RUNX2 Proteins) expression

  8. Bone sialoprotein (show CRISP1 Proteins) could be a key mediator of the hypertrophic chondrocytes-induced angiogenesis of osteoarthritis.

  9. Current evidence demonstrates that BSP (show KLK6 Proteins) and OPN (show SPP1 Proteins), play significant roles in bone metastasis of osteotropic malignancies derived from breast, prostate, lung, thyroid, and multiple myeloma. [review]

  10. High expression of bone sialoprotein (show CRISP1 Proteins) in breast neoplasms was associated with cytokeratin (show KRT4 Proteins)-positive cells in bone marrow, but not with lymph node metastasis.

Integrin-Binding Sialoprotein (IBSP) Protein Profile

Protein Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a major structural protein of the bone matrix. It constitutes approximately 12% of the noncollagenous proteins in human bone and is synthesized by skeletal-associated cell types, including hypertrophic chondrocytes, osteoblasts, osteocytes, and osteoclasts. The only extraskeletal site of its synthesis is the trophoblast. This protein binds to calcium and hydroxyapatite via its acidic amino acid clusters, and mediates cell attachment through an RGD sequence that recognizes the vitronectin receptor.
