More Proteins for Testis-Specific serine Kinase 1B (TSSK1B) Interaction Partners

Human Testis-Specific serine Kinase 1B (TSSK1B) interaction partners

  1. Report evolution of testis-specific kinases TSSK1B and TSSK2 in primates.

  2. Data show that human testis-specific (show THEG Proteins) serine/threonine (Ser (show SIGLEC1 Proteins)/Thr (show TRH Proteins)) kinase (TSSK) 1 and 2 messages are expressed exclusively in the testis and suggest that this family of kinases might play a role in sperm function.

Mouse (Murine) Testis-Specific serine Kinase 1B (TSSK1B) interaction partners

  1. In mouse testis, PPP1CC2 can form a complex with TSSK1 mediated by the direct interaction of each with the kinase substrate protein TSKS (show TSKS Proteins). Interaction between PPP1CC2 and TSKS (show TSKS Proteins) is mediated through an RVxF docking motif on the TSKS (show TSKS Proteins) surface.

  2. HSP90 (show HSP90 Proteins) function abolished the catalytic activities of TSSK4 (show TSSK4 Proteins) and -6 but did not significantly alter the specific activities of TSSK1 and -2. Inhibition of HSP90 (show HSP90 Proteins) resulted in increased TSSK ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation

  3. Tssk1 and Tssk2 play an important role in the regulation of sperm function.

  4. Results reveal TSSK1- and TSSK2-dependent functions of a transformed chromatoid body in post-meiotic cytodifferentiation of spermatids.

  5. The expression patterns of Tsk1 is documented throughout spermiogenesis showing an initial association of Tsk1 with cells in meiotic metaphase.

  6. Deletion of Tssk2 kinase/substrate pair is predicted to play an indispensable role during spermiogenesis

  7. Results confirm both TSSK 2 and TSKS (show TSKS Proteins) persist in sperm, define a critical role of TSKS (show TSKS Proteins)' N-terminus in enzyme interaction, identify Ser (show SIGLEC1 Proteins) 281 as a TSKS (show TSKS Proteins) phosphorylation site and indicate an indispensable role for TSSK 1 and 2 in spermiogenesis.
