Additional Information

Alternative name p75NTR (ME20.4, low affinity NGF receptor)
Swiss-Prot P08138
Immunogen Human melanoma cell lines
Format Lyophilized
Isotype IgG1  (Matching secondary antibodies)
Description FUNCTION: Low affinity receptor which can bind to NGF, BDNF, NT-3, and NT-4. Can mediate cell survival as well as cell death of neural cells. SUBUNIT: Homodimer; disulfide-linked. Interacts with p75NTR-associated cell death executor. Interacts with TRAF2, TRAF4, TRAF6, PTPN13 and RANBP9. Interacts through TRAF6 with SQSTM1 which bridges NGFR to NTRK1. Interacts with BEX1 and NGFRAP1/BEX3. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Also known as: Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 16, P08138, low-affinity nerve growth factor receptor, NGF receptor, Gp80-LNGFR, p75 ICD, low affinity neurotrophin receptor p75NTR, CD271 antigen, NGFR, TNFRSF16.
Specificity Appears to be specific for p75NTR.

Application Details

Application Notes Immunohistochemistry (IHC),Immunocytochemistry (ICC). A concentration of 2-10 µg/ml is recommended. The optimal working concentration should be determined by the end user. This antibody may also be used for immunoabsorptive purification of NGF-receptors. See also the eLab Book at the end of this page.
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Restrictions For Research Use only
