Peptide ELISA: Limit Dilution: 1/2000. Western blot: 0.3-1 μg/mL. Experiments gave bands at approx 20 kDa and 20 kDa in HumanTestis lysates. These bands correspond to earlier findings in literature with differentantibodies (Ref.2). Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

Niemann-Pick C2 (NPC2) is a 22 kDa soluble lysosomal glycoprotein important for cholesterol and sphingolipid transport in the lysosome. This protein was initially identified as the second Niemann-Pick type C (NPC) gene based on its ability to bind the mannose-6 phosphate receptor. NPC disease is an autosomal recessively inherited neurodegenerative lysosomal storage disease and its associated with abnormal cholesterol accumulation in cells. Mutations in the NPC2 gene cause 5 % of the cases, the rest and majority being caused by NPC1 mutations.Synonyms: Epididymal secretory protein E1
