Alternative Name Cytokeratin 8 (52.2 kDa)
Background This antibody reacts with Cytokeratin 8 (52 and 45 kD) human polypeptide. This cytokeratin coexists With Cytokeratin 18 and is found in all non-squamous epithelium but not in squamous epithelium. It Reacts with the adenocarcinomas of ovary, gastrointestinal tract, prostate, and thyroid.
Application Notes Immunohistochemistry: (Paraffin/Frozen): 1:50 -1:100.
Staining Procedure: Prolonged fixation in buffered formalin can destroy the epitope. The antibody may be used at a dilution of 1:50 to 1:100 with AutoProbe III. The optimal conditions should be determined by the individual laboratory. The Auto/Zyme predigestion or high temperature antigenic unmasking technique is recommended with this antibody when using paraffinembedded tissue sections.
