Product Details anti-Caspase 1 Antibody

Target Details Caspase 1 Application Details Handling Images
Specificity This reacts with the 45 kDa protein Caspase 1 and is expressed as a proenzyme in many tissues. Active Caspase 1 is a tetramer of two subunits p10 and p20 in 2:2 ratio. Overexpression of caspase 1 can induce apoptosis in fibroblast, which can be inhibited by overexpression of Crm A, a protein from pox virus.
Cross-Reactivity (Details) Not yet tested in other species.
Purification IgG purified
Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the second quarter of human Caspase 1 protein.
Isotype IgG

Antigen
Alternative Name Caspase-1 (CASP1 Antibody Abstract)
Background Caspases are a family of cysteine proteases that are key mediators of programmed celldeath or apoptosis. The precursor form of all caspases is composed of a prodomain, and large and small catalytic subunits. The active forms of caspases are generated byseveral stimuli including ligand-receptor interactions, growth factor deprivation andinhibitors of cellular functions. All known caspases require cleavage adjacent toaspartates to liberate one large and one small subunit, which associate into a2b2tetramer to form the active enzyme. Caspase 1 is similar to the cell death gene CED3 ofC. elegans and regulates multiple proinflammatory cytokines, including Interleukin 1band interferon-gamma-inducing factor. Caspase 1 plays a role down stream of Caspase8 which is involved in Fas-mediated apoptosis. Alternate Names: anti-CASP 1 antibody, anti-CASP1 antibody, anti-Caspase 1 apoptosis related cysteinepeptidase antibody, anti-Caspase 1 apoptosis related cysteine protease antibody,anti-Caspase1 antibody, anti-ICE antibody, anti-IL 1 beta converting enzyme antibody,anti-IL 1BC antibody, anti-IL1B convertase antibody, anti-IL1BC antibody, anti-IL1BCEantibody, anti-Interleukin 1 beta convertase antibody, anti-Interleukin 1 beta convertaseprecursor antibody, anti-Interleukin 1 beta converting enzyme antibody, anti-Interleukin1B converting enzyme antibody, anti-P45 antibody.

Application Notes IHC: This antibody may be diluted to a titer of 1:25-1:50 in an ABC method. We suggest an incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature. However, depending upon the fixation conditions and the staining system employed, optimal incubation conditions and antibody dilutions should be determined by the user. Formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections require high temperature antigen unmasking with all10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 prior to immunostaining.
Recommended dilutions: Immunohistochemistry 1:10-1:500, Immunohistochemistry-Frozen 1:10-1:500, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin 1:10-1:500, Western Blot 1:100-1:2000

Format Liquid
Buffer PBS, Sodium Azide
Preservative Sodium azide
Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
Handling Advice Do not freeze.
Storage 4 °C
