  1. Data suggest no influence of chronic periodontitis treatment on PSA (show PLAG1 Antibodies) levels in asymptomatic men.

  2. Circulating total PSA (show PLAG1 Antibodies) levels were strongly associated to leukocyte telomere length in a national sample of men without prostate cancer.

  3. I might also point out that whether a particular surgical procedure did more good than harm at that time was highly dependent on whether it was conducted with good sterile procedure. PSA (show PLAG1 Antibodies) screening is a contemporary example of this historical lesson

  4. Data show that forkhead box M1 (show FOXM1 Antibodies) protein (FOXM1 (show FOXM1 Antibodies)) directly binds to the FHK binding motifs in the prostate specific antigen (PSA (show KLK3 Antibodies)) promoter/enhancer regions.

  5. Study suggests that the prognostic value of PSA (show PLAG1 Antibodies) declines in heavily treated patients receiving enzalutamide

  6. novel urinary gene expression signature that may be the least invasive of available options by not requiring a digital rectal examination or phlebotomy as a reflex test in men for whom PSA (show PLAG1 Antibodies) testing raises the suspicion of prostate cancer

  7. For PSA (show PLAG1 Antibodies) screening to be cost-effective, it needs to be used conservatively and ideally in combination with a conservative management approach for low-risk disease

  8. Both the incidence of early-stage prostate cancer and rates of PSA (show PLAG1 Antibodies) screening have declined and coincide with 2012 USPSTF recommendation to omit PSA (show PLAG1 Antibodies) screening from routine primary care for men. Longer follow-up is needed to see whether these decreases are associated with trends in mortality.

  9. Distinctive immunohistochemical expression of PAX8 (show PAX8 Antibodies) and lack of prostate-specific antigen (show KLK3 Antibodies) can help in distinguishing this benign entity from prostatic adenocarcinoma.

  10. Circulating prostate-derived PSA (show PLAG1 Antibodies) and membrane PSM (show FOLH1 Antibodies) mRNA pre- and post-radical prostatectomy improves accuracy of a nomogram to predict biochemical recurrence of prostate cancer.

  1. Plasma kallikrein (show KLKB1 Antibodies) mediates brain hemorrhage and edema caused by tissue plasminogen activator (show PLAT Antibodies) therapy in mice after stroke.

  2. we found that post-ejaculated semen from fertile wild-type males was solidified and the sperm were entrapped in Wnt7aCre/+;Esr1f/f uteri, compared to the watery semen (liquefied) found in Esr1f/f controls.Kallikrein-related peptidases 3 (KLK3) and other kallikrein (show KLK1 Antibodies)-related peptidases from male prostate glands are responsible for semen liquefaction by cleaving gel-forming proteins

  3. Klkb1 (show KLKB1 Antibodies)(-/-) mice have a novel mechanism for thrombosis protection in addition to reduced contact activation. This pathway arises when bradykinin delivery to vasculature is compromised and mediated by increased receptor Mas (show MAS1 Antibodies), prostacyclin, Sirt1 (show SIRT1 Antibodies), and KLF4 (show KLF4 Antibodies)

  4. Plasma kallikrein (show KLKB1 Antibodies) deletion prevents occlusive thrombus formation in mice with a minimal role in provoked bleeding.

  5. PKK (show RIPK4 Antibodies) or fXII (show F12 Antibodies) deficiency reduced thrombus formation in both arterial and venous thrombosis models, without an apparent effect on hemostasis.

  6. Data suggest that LGG secreting PSA (show NPEPPS Antibodies) may activate antigen specific immune responses when instilled intravesically and IL15 (show IL15 Antibodies) could enhance this response.

  7. the prekallikrein gene (Klkb1 (show KLKB1 Antibodies)) is expressed highly in the mammary gland during stromal remodeling periods including puberty and postlactational involution.

Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) Antigen Profile

Antigen Summary

Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases having diverse physiological functions. Growing evidence suggests that many kallikreins are implicated in carcinogenesis and some have potential as novel cancer and other disease biomarkers. This gene is one of the fifteen kallikrein subfamily members located in a cluster on chromosome 19. Its protein product is a protease present in seminal plasma. It is thought to function normally in the liquefaction of seminal coagulum, presumably by hydrolysis of the high molecular mass seminal vesicle protein. Serum level of this protein, called PSA in the clinical setting, is useful in the diagnosis and monitoring of prostatic carcinoma. Alternate splicing of this gene generates several transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
