Background
- Cyclins are important in regulating the cell cycle through their formation of enzymatic complexes with various cyclin-dependent kinases. P19(INK4d) also kowns as cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2D, is one of the novel members of the mouse INK4 gene family. Okuda et al. (1995) described the cloning of the human INK4d gene (CDKN2D). The predicted 166-amino acid protein is 86 % identical to the mouse protein and about 45 % identical to other human INK4 family members.Synonyms: Cyclin-dependent kinase 4 inhibitor D, INK4D, p19, p19-INK4d
