Background
- Glutamate receptors sensitive to AMPA (alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolpropionate) are ligand-activated cation channels that mediate the fast component of excitatory postsynaptic currents in neurons of the central nervous system.
