- The molecular weight of the recognized antigen is 150kDa. CD49d antigen is the integrin alpha-4 chain non covalently associated with the integrin beta-1-chain (CD29 molecule) forming the VLA4 complex. Reacts with monocytes, T cells, B cells, thymocytes and Langerhans cells.

- Flow cytometry Basic studies of VLA4 mediated adhesion and its interaction with the VCAM-1 structure. Fluorescent microscopy or flow cytometry: 2 µg/5x105 cells/test Each laboratory should determine an optimum working titer for use in its particular application.
