Specificity: The antibody detects endogenous level of Tyrosine Hydroxylase only when phosphorylated at serine19.

Purification: The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography usingepitope-specific phosphopeptide. The antibody against non-phosphopeptide was removedby chromatography using non-phosphopeptide corresponding to the phosphorylation site.

Immunogen: Peptide sequence around phosphorylation site of pSer19 (A-V-S (p) -E-Q) derived from Rat pTyrosine Hydroxylase (TH) . Antibodies were produced by immunizing rabbits with synthetic phosphopeptide and KLH conjugates.

Background: The protein encoded by Tyrosine Hydroxylase is involved in the conversion of tyrosine to dopamine. It is the rate-limiting enzyme in the synthesis of catecholamines, hence plays a key role in the physiology of adrenergic neurons. Mutations in this gene have been associated with autosomal recessive Segawa syndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been noted for this gene.
