Specificity
- This antibody recognises integrin alpha 2b, a 110-130 kDa transmembrane protein that is also known as CD41. CD41 associates with the integrin CD61 to form the CD41/CD61 (GPIIb/IIIa) heterodimer, a fibronectin receptor expressed in platelets. The antibody M148 binds to some medulloblastoma and neuroblastoma cells and rhabdomyosarcoma and certain other solid tumours. No binding is observed to marrow constituents other than platelets and megakaryocytes. The antibody M148 prevents aggregation of platelets.
