Specificity
- Mouse sequence is only 50 % conserved in rat and no appreciable homology with human RELM-alpha. We recommend the use of antibody that is raised to human RELM-alpha sequence. No significant sequence was found with resistin or RELM-beta. Antibody cross-reactivity in various species is not established. Control peptides, because of their small size (< 2kD), are not suitable for Western. We recommend the use of control peptide in antibody blocking experiments (use 5-10 μg of peptide per 1 μg of aff pure or 1 μL of antiserum) to demonstrate antibody specificity.

Purification
- Immunoaffinity purified
-
Immunogen
- A 14-aa peptide sequence near the N-terminus of mouse RELM-alpha (1) was coupled with KLH (carrier protein).
