The Rabbit Polyclonal anti-Apoptosis Inhibitor 5 antibody is suitable to detect Apoptosis Inhibitor 5 in samples from Human and Mouse. It has been validated for WB, ELISA, IHC and IF.
Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the investigator. Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: WB 1:500-1:2000,IHC 1:100-1:300,ELISA 1:20000,IF 1:50-200

Background
API5, MIG8, Apoptosis inhibitor 5, API-5, Antiapoptosis clone 11 protein, AAC-11, Cell migration-inducing gene 8 protein, Fibroblast growth factor 2-interacting factor, FIF, Protein XAGLAPI5 encodes an apoptosis inhibitory protein whose expression prevents apoptosis after growth factor deprivation. This protein (apoptosis inhibitor 5) suppresses the transcription factor E2F1-induced apoptosis and also interacts with, and negatively regulates Acinus, a nuclear factor involved in apoptotic DNA fragmentation. Its depletion enhances the cytotoxic action of the chemotherapeutic drugs. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
