Characteristics
- The clone B6H12, a mouse monoclonal antibody selectively recognizes a ~50 kDa N-linked glycan protein originally known as integrin-associated protein or IAP and currently known as CD47. CD47 is an unusual Immunoglobulin (Ig) family member, with an Ig variable-like amino-terminal extracellular domain and a five times membrane-spanning carboxyl-terminal region. It is broadly expressed on the plasma membranes of all hematopoietic cells, including erythrocytes. CD47 plays various important roles in cellular functional processes, including proliferation, apoptosis, adhesion, migration, and also in immune regulation and homeostasis. CD47 is highly expressed on myeloma cells and may be considered as a potential therapeutic candidate for myeloma therapy.
