Background
T-Cell Intracellular Antigen-1 (TIA1) is involved in regulating gene expression and has been found to be essential for the maintenance of T-cell homeostasis. Research has shown that TIA1 is involved in alternative splicing and mRNA degradation, processes that are essential for the proper functioning of T-cells. In addition, TIA1 has been shown to play a role in the regulation of immune responses and inflammation. TIA1 also plays a role in the response to stress. When T-cells are exposed to stress, TIA1 relocalizes to stress granules and helps to regulate the translation of stress-induced mRNAs. This process is essential for the survival of T-cells under stress conditions.
