Specificity
- This antibody reacts strongly with CD22. CD22 is expressed on in all B cell cytoplasm. It appears as CD19 on the cell surface in developing B cells. It can also be found on the cell surface of most mature sIg+ B cells and on hairy cell and prolymphocytic leukemia cells. On frozen sections, CD22 is found in follicular mantle and marginal zone B cells. There is weak reaction in germinal center B cells. This antibody can be used for typing of leukemia, assigning B cell lineage, and in flow cytometry to identify mature B cells. Also, it can be used to study B cell adhesion and to identify B cell lymphomas.
