Protein Name
Background Sulfotransferase 1A2, also known as SULT1A2, is a member of sulfotransferase family. Sulfotransferase enzymes catalyze the sulfate conjugation of many hormones, neurotransmitters, drugs, and xenobiotic compounds. It mediates the metabolic activation of carcinogenic N-hydroxyarylamines to DNA binding products and could so participate as modulating factor of cancer risk. Recombinant human SULT1A2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. Synonyms: Sulfotransferase 1A2, HAST4, P-PST, ST1A2, STP2, TSPST2. NCBI no.: NP_001045
