    Background
EIF1AY is similar to eukaryotic translation initiation factor 1A (EIF1A). This protein seems to be required for maximal rate of protein biosynthesis. It enhances ribosome dissociation into subunits and is required for the binding of the 43S complex (a 40S subunit, eIF2/GTP/Met-tRNAi and eIF3) to the 5' end of capped RNA. Recombinant human EIF1AY protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography. Synonyms: Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 1A, Y-linked, eIF-1A Y isoform, eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4C(eIF-4C). NCBI no.: NP_004672
    Molecular Weight
18.8 kDa(167aa), confirmed by MALDI-TOF (Molecular weight on SDS-PAGE will appear higher)
