Background
- IFN-ω is a member of the type I interferon family, that can be induced by virus infected leukocytes and exert antiviral and anti-proliferative activities. IFN-ω shares about 75 % sequence homology with IFN-α. There are two conserved disulfide bonds that are necessary for full biological activity.
