Background
-
Protein Background: MAPK9 (Mitogen-activated protein kinase 9) also know as JNK-55, JNK2, JNK2A, JNK2ALPHA, JNK2B, JNK2BETA, p54a, p54aSAPK, PRKM9, SAPK and SAPK1a. MAPK9 is a serine/threonine-protein kinase involved in various processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, transformation and programmed cell death. Extracellular stimuli such as pro-inflammatory cytokines or physical stress stimulate the stress-activated protein kinase/cJun N-terminal kinase (SAP/JNK) signaling pathway. In this cascade, two dual specificity kinases MAP2K4/MKK4 and MAP2K7/MKK7 phosphorylate and activate MAPK9/JNK2.
Short Description: Recombinant MAPK9 (JNK2) protein that includes full length of human MAPK9 protein (accession number NP_001351537.1) was expressed in E. coli and contains an N-terminal His tag with a molecular weight of 50.3 kDa. The purity of the protein is ≥ 95 % by SDS-PAGE.
Aliases: JNK-55, JNK2, JNK2A, JNK2AKPHA, JNK2B, JNK2BETA, p54a, p54aSAPK, PRKM9, SAPK, SAPK1a
