Isotype IgG2a
Specificity This antibody recognises ACTIN alpha Smooth Muscle.
Cellular Localization: Cytoplasmic.
Characteristics Synonyms: Alpha-actin-2, ACTVS, GIG46, Cell growth-inhibiting gene 46 protein
Purification Purified
Background Actin is a globular, roughly 42- kDa protein found in all eukaryotic cells. Actin participates in many important cellular functions, including muscle contraction cell motility cell division and cytokinesis vesicle and organelle movement, cell signaling, and the establishment and maintenance of cell junctions and cell shape. Expression of smooth muscle alpha actin is regulated by hormones and cell proliferation and is altered by pathological conditions including onogenic transformation and atherosclerosis.Synonyms: ACTSA, ACTVS, Alpha-actin-2, Cell growth-inhibiting gene 46 protein
Gene ID 59
UniProt P62736
Pathways Myometrial Relaxation and Contraction, Skeletal Muscle Fiber Development
Application Notes Suitable for Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry (Frozen or Formalin-FixedParaffin-Embedded (FFPE) tissue sections and cell smears)For IHC dilute concentared antibody at 1/50-1/100, use streptavidinapprox. biotin system orpolymer system, incubate 30 minutes at room temperature. Recommended Positive Control: Human uterus, gastrointestinal tissue, Leiomyosarcoma.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
