  1. Expression of the beta 4 subunit of the alpha 6 beta 4 integrin induces monocytic differentiation of 32D/v-Abl (show ABL1 Antibodies) transformed cells. alpha 6 beta 4 integrin promotes growth arrest and differentiation by modulating Abl (show ABL1 Antibodies) kinases and p73 (show ARHGAP24 Antibodies) protein pathway(s).

  2. Integrin beta4 contributes to mammary gland development by sustaining PTHrP (show PTHLH Antibodies) expression and enabling PTHrP (show PTHLH Antibodies) signaling.

  1. For the in vivo experiment, miR (show MLXIP Antibodies)-182-5p overexpression also promoted the growth and progression of prostate cancer tumors. In this regard, we suggest that miR (show MLXIP Antibodies)-182-5p may be a key androgen receptor (show AR Antibodies)-regulated factor that contributes to the development and metastasis of Chinese prostate cancers and may be a potential target for the early diagnosis and therapeutic studies of prostate cancer.

  2. data indicate that the beta4 integrin/FAK (show PTK2 Antibodies) complex and subsequent FAK (show PTK2 Antibodies) activation are essential regulators during the tumorigenicity of colon cancer

  3. This work investigates alpha6beta4 integrin genetic variations (A380T and R1281W) and breast cancer risk in an Argentinian population. No subjects carrying the R1281W mutation in the ITGB4 gene were found and this absence could reflect its high deleterious impact on proteins, so it would be eliminated from the population by natural selection.

Integrin beta 4 (ITGB4) Antigen Profile

Antigen Summary

Integrins are heterodimers comprised of alpha and beta subunits, that are noncovalently associated transmembrane glycoprotein receptors. Different combinations of alpha and beta polypeptides form complexes that vary in their ligand-binding specificities. Integrins mediate cell-matrix or cell-cell adhesion, and transduced signals that regulate gene expression and cell growth. This gene encodes the integrin beta 4 subunit, a receptor for the laminins. This subunit tends to associate with alpha 6 subunit and is likely to play a pivotal role in the biology of invasive carcinoma. Mutations in this gene are associated with epidermolysis bullosa with pyloric atresia. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene.
