the predominant expression of DEADSouth mRNA in the PGCs is ensured by multiple mechanisms including zygotic expression and prohibition from miR (show MYLIP Antibodies)-427-mediated degradation.
Analysed the association of GRTH (show THRB Antibodies) gene IVS6+55G/T and c.852C/T polymorphisms with male infertility. The c.852 T allele was associated with an increased risk of male infertility (OR: 3.16, P = 0.008), whereas IVS6+55G/T allele conferred no risk.
multifunctional RNA helicase (show DDX46 Antibodies) that is an essential regulator of spermatogenesis
SNP IVS6+55G-->T and c.852C-->T of GRTH (show THRB Antibodies) gene may be associated with male infertility with azoospermia or severe oligozoospermia.
Data show that the Arg(242)His missense mutation of the GRTH/DDX25 gene associated with expression of a protein with reduced basicity, and the absence of the phospho-GRTH (show THRB Antibodies) species, could impact on germ cell development and/or function.
The association of GRTH (show THRB Antibodies) mutations with male infertility underlines the importance of GRTH (show THRB Antibodies) as a central, post-transcriptional regulator of spermatogenesis.
The association of Tp2 (show TERT Antibodies) expression via binding to the conserved RNA binding motifs of GRTH protein and the basis for understanding GRTH in the regulation of the genes essential for germ cell elongation and completion of spermatogenesis is revealed.
Data indicate that the transgenic line can be used to define requirements for cell-specific expression of the RNA helicase (show DHX9 Antibodies) (GRTH/DDX25) gene.
The results suggest that DDX25 functions in meiotic cells, intermitochondrial cement, loose aggregates of particles, chromatoid bodies, late chromatoid bodies, satellite bodies, granulated bodies,mitochondria-associated granules and reticulated bodies.
Data show the regulatory pathways underlying GRTH action in male reproduction.
GRTH regulation by androgen in Leydig cells; molecular mechanism of androgen-regulated transcription
Testis-specific (show AIF1 Antibodies) miRNA-469 up-regulated in gonadotropin-regulated testicular RNA helicase (GRTH/DDX25)-null mice silences transition protein 2 and protamine 2 (show PRM2 Antibodies) messages at sites within coding region: implications of its role in germ cell development.
Gonadotropin-regulated testicular RNA helicase (GRTH/DDX25), a negative regulator of luteinizing/chorionic gonadotropin hormone-induced steroidogenesis in Leydig cells: central role of steroidogenic acute regulatory protein (show STAR Antibodies) (StAR).
demonstrates that GRTH is essential for completion of spermatogenesis, (ii) provides insights into intrinsic requirements for spermiogenesis, and (iii) establishes a model for studies of male infertility and contraception
GRTH, as a component of mRNP particles, acts as a negative regulator of the tumor necrosis factor receptor 1 (show TNFRSF1A Antibodies) and caspase (show CASP3 Antibodies) pathways and promotes NF-kappaB (show NFKB1 Antibodies) function to control apoptosis in spermatocytes of adult mice
DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases. They are implicated in a number of cellular processes involving alteration of RNA secondary structure, such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly. Based on their distribution patterns, some members of the DEAD box protein family are believed to be involved in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, and cellular growth and division. This gene encodes a member of this family. The encoded protein is a gonadotropin-regulated and developmentally expressed testicular RNA helicase. It may serve to maintain testicular functions related to steroidogenesis and spermatogenesis.
