Application Notes
-
Direct ELISA: To detect Human IGF-I by direct ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) aconcentration of approx. 1.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This Biotinylated polyclonalantibody allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of recombinant Human IGF-I. Sandwich ELISA: To detect Human IGF-I by Sandwich ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibodysolution) a concentration of 0.25-1.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. Used inconjunction with Polyclonal anti-Human IGF-I (PP1020P1 or PP1020P2) as a Captureantibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of recombinant Human IGF-I. Western blot: To detect Human IGF-I by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used ata concentration of 0.1-0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagentsthe detection limit for recombinant Hunman IGF-I is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducingor non-reducing conditions.
Other applications not tested.

Background
- Insulin is a pancreatic hormone that regulates glucose uptake and the synthesis of protein and fat. The insulin like growth factors, isolated from plasma, are structurally and functionally related to insulin but have a much higher growth promoting activity. IGF1 (Insulin Like Growth Factor I) is a polypeptide growth factor, which stimulates the proliferation of a wide range of cell types including muscle, bone, and cartilage tissue. IGF1 functions as an autocrine regulator of growth.Synonyms: IBP1, IGF-I, MGF, Mechano growth factor, Somatomedin-C
