Western Blotting (WB), Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA), Functional Studies (Func)
Specificity
This antibody recognises MAdCAM-1 (mucosal addressin cell adhesion molecule -1), a 40 kDa protein expressed by vascular endothelium. Clone CA102.2C1 has been reported to block the binding of human cells expressing alpha4 Beta7 to immobilized MAdCAM-1 in vitro.
ELISA. Western blotting. Functional assay. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
MAdCAM1 is an endothelial cell adhesion molecule that interacts preferentially with the leukocyte beta7 integrin LPAM1 (alpha4 beta7), L selectin, and VLA4 (alpha4 beta1) on myeloid cells to direct leukocytes into mucosal and inflamed tissues. It is a member of the immunoglobulin family and is similar to ICAM1 and VCAM1. At least seven alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different protein isoforms have been found for this gene, but the full length nature of some variants has not been determined.Synonyms: MAdCAM-1, Mucosal addressin cell adhesion molecule 1, hMAdCAM-1
