Flow Cytometry (FACS), Immunohistochemistry (Frozen Sections) (IHC (fro)), Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA)
    Specificity
SM2070P recognises placental alkaline phosphate, a 67 kDa isoform expressed in trophoblast cells of normal human placenta, in seminomas and in ovarian carcinoma. The H17E2 antibody has been widely used in immunolocalisation studies of germ cell tumours and may also be used in ELISA based assays for the measurement of soluble PLAP.

    Background
Alkaline phosphatases are phosphodiesterases. The placental-specific isozyme of Alkaline Phosphatase (PLAP) is found in trophoblast cells of normal human mature placenta, seminomas of testis and ovarian carcinomas. Detection of alkaline phosphatase in serum is a marker for ovarian and testicular cancer.Synonyms: Alkaline phosphatase, Alkaline phosphatase Regan isozyme, PLAP-1, placental type
