  • Application Notes
Suitable for Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry (Frozen or Formalin-FixedParaffin-Embedded (FFPE) tissue sections and cell smears). For IHC dilute concentared antibody at 1/50-1/200 using streptavidin-Biotin system orpolymer system. For FFPE tissue sections high temperature antigen retriever (boiling tissue in 10 mM Citratebuffer for 10 min) enhances the signal and may require further dilution of antibody. Positive Control: Human colon carcinoma, LS 174 T colon cancer cell line.
    Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

    Background
Mucin 2, oligomeric mucus/gel-forming, also known as MUC2, is a human intestinal mucin gene. This gene is expressed in colon, small intestine, colonic tumors, bronchus, cervix, gall bladder, and possibly other tissues. Mucins are high molecular weight glycoproteins having oligosaccharides attached to serine or threonine residue of the apomucin protein backbone by O-glycosidic linkages.Synonyms: Intestinal mucin-2, MUC-2, MUC2, SMUC
