    Western Blotting (WB)
    Specificity
Recognizes human Livin, a novel member of the IAP protein family. Livin contains a single baculoviral IAP repeat domain and a RING finger domain and has two isoforms, Livin-a and Livin-~. Transfection of Livin in cells results in protection from apoptosis induced by FADD, Bax, RIP, RIP3, and DR6. Livin interacts directly with caspase-3, -7, and -9 and inhibits the activation of caspase-9 induced by Apaf-1, cytochrome c, and dATP.
    Purification
    Immunoaffinity purified
    Immunogen
Peptide corresponding to aa 264-280 of the short form and aa 281-298 of the long form of human Livin.

    Type of Immunogen: Synthetic peptide

  • Application Notes
    Approved: WB (2 - 4 μg/mL)

Usage: Western Blot: 2-4 μg/mL. In immunoblots, a band of 33 kD is detected. A weak band at 30 kD is detected in Raji cell lysate and probably represents the short form of human Livin.
